From Law and Leadership to Coherence and Culture
Philosopher, psychotherapist, and consultant helping leaders and organisations regulate complexity, restore connection, and build cultures of coherence.
About Amar
Scholar. Psychotherapist. Facilitator of Coherence.
Dr Amar Dhall is a psychotherapist, leadership researcher, and former law lecturer whose career bridges jurisprudence, neuroscience, and somatic psychology. He is the founder of Neuro-Somatic Leadership (NSL), a managing partner of Primal Intelligence, and the Centre Director of the Canberra Trauma and Well-Being Centre.
Amar’s work integrates law, psychology, and embodiment into a single inquiry:
How humans and systems stay connected under pressure.
His doctorate in law, completed at the University of Canberra, developed Neo-Naturalism — a relational, quantum-inspired theory of jurisprudence that now underpins his consulting, leadership, and cultural-change frameworks.
A clinically registered psychotherapist trained in holistic counselling and psychotherapy (Metavision), Somatic Experiencing, and Somatic Practice with Kathy Kain as well as Polyvagal-informed therapy with Deb Dana, Amar combines intellectual rigour with grounded clinical practice. He helps leaders, organisations, and communities translate conceptual insight into embodied change.
He has also held leadership and governance roles within international men’s-work organisations, experience that continues to inform his collaborative work through Primal Intelligence — evolving men’s work into a mythic, trauma-informed, and relationally intelligent practice.
Amar has authored peer-reviewed and book-chapter publications with the American Bar Association, Routledge, and World Futures, and has presented internationally on trauma-informed leadership and law. He has received the University of Canberra Dean’s Teaching Award for Innovation and Excellence and the Australian Postgraduate Award for doctoral research.
Recognised equally for intellectual clarity and creative breadth, Amar also DJs ambient electronic music — another way of exploring coherence through rhythm, relation, and sound.
“Coherence is the art of staying connected when life gets complex — individually, collectively, and systemically.”

    Organisational Consulting
From Philosophy to Practice
The same philosophy that underpins Amar’s research and psychotherapeutic work forms the foundation of his consulting practice. His organisational programs translate decades of inquiry into coherence, regulation, and relational systems into the language of leadership and culture — turning personal insight into collective intelligence.
Amar works with executive teams, boards, and organisations navigating complexity, growth, or cultural strain. His consulting integrates nervous-system literacy, trauma-informed leadership, and systems thinking to help teams move from reaction to regulation, and from compliance to coherence.
“Every organisation is a living nervous system. When leaders regulate, the whole system begins to heal.”
Approach
Amar’s consulting sits at the intersection of research, relational leadership, and psychosocial safety. Each engagement begins by mapping the human architecture of the organisation — its rhythms, pressures, and unspoken narratives — and then designing interventions that restore connection where fragmentation has taken hold.
His methods draw on Neuro-Somatic Leadership (NSL), ISO 45003 psychosocial-risk frameworks, and the relational principles articulated in his legal and philosophical work, Neo-Naturalism. Together, they form a unified model for organisational coherence — one that meets legislative responsibility while elevating performance and wellbeing.
This approach is being used with ASX-listed companies, growing professional practices, and small-to-medium enterprises. In early 2026, Amar will partner with a 15-person construction business to deliver a psychosocial-risk and cultural survey, followed by training the founder in the Neuro-Somatic Leadership Program — a scalable example of how coherence principles apply at any organisational size.

Results
Organisations that adopt this model often experience measurable shifts:
- Improved psychological safety and trust.
- Reduction in reactivity and interpersonal conflict.
- More consistent, grounded leadership presence.
- Stronger alignment between wellbeing, performance, and culture.
These changes emerge not through quick fixes but through systemic recalibration — aligning the physiology of leadership with the strategy of the business.
Who It’s For
- ASX-listed and mid-tier organisations seeking psychosocial compliance and culture transformation.
- Small-to-medium enterprises wanting to protect wellbeing and strengthen leadership capability as they scale.
- Senior leaders and founders ready to embody the coherence they want reflected in their teams.
Amar’s consulting is where philosophy meets practice — rigorous, relational, and tailored to the realities of modern leadership.

Philosophy of Practice
Connection as the Measure of Intelligence
At the centre of Amar’s work lies a simple principle: connection is the highest form of intelligence. Whether in a single coaching conversation or a company-wide culture initiative, every meaningful shift begins when people feel safe enough to relate — to themselves, to others, and to the purpose of their work.
Amar’s consulting and leadership programs don’t impose systems; they reveal them. Each organisation already contains its own design for coherence — an intelligence often hidden beneath busyness, reactivity, and fragmentation. The work is to help the system sense itself again, to recover the rhythm that allows clarity, creativity, and care to coexist.
“The nervous system of the organisation mirrors the nervous system of its leaders.”
This philosophy threads through every engagement:
- In leadership coaching, it means teaching regulation before reaction.
- In psychosocial risk work, it means seeing compliance as a pathway to coherence, not constraint.
- In culture programs, it means creating spaces where feedback becomes connection, not criticism.
The process is both strategic and human — analytical enough for the boardroom, embodied enough for real change. It draws on Amar’s background in law, psychotherapy, and leadership research, blending the structural intelligence of governance with the somatic intelligence of relationship.
Working With Amar
Amar works with organisations across Australia and internationally — from ASX-listed companies to growing professional practices and small-to-medium enterprises. Engagements range from single-day intensives to multi-year partnerships.
Each begins with a conversation: a collaborative exploration of context, goals, and readiness. From there, a tailored pathway is designed — diagnostic, developmental, and integrative.
Typical formats include:
- Executive and leadership team programs
- Whole-of-organisation culture audits and retreats
- Psychosocial-risk reviews and compliance integration
- One-to-one executive mentoring
To ensure depth and sustainability, Amar limits the number of active clients each year.
